Svenska barnboksinstitutet hör till de lärosäten och organisationer som är godkända som medelsförvaltare av Forte, Riksbankens Jubileumsfond och Vetenskapsrådet. Det innebär att forskare har möjlighet att förlägga forskningsprojekt till institutet vid ansökningar om medel från dessa forskningsfinansiärer.
