The aim of the Book Tasting is to give an overview of the children’s and young adult books published in Sweden. The Book Tasting includes all children’s and young adult books published in Sweden the previous year that have been donated to the Swedish Institute for Children’s Books by the end of February. No assessment of the quality of the individual books is made in the Book Tasting, and the Book Tasting does not offer book recommendations.

The Book Tasting has been arranged every year since the mid-1990s. As a whole, the Book Tasting reports therefore offer an extensive and unique overview of the children’s and young adult books published in Sweden. 

Bokprovning (the book tasting) is a trademark registered by the Swedish Institute for Children’s Books. The Book Tasting is arranged with support from the City of Stockholm.
